Last week’s the Golf Walk:

Meet 8.25am, Bay D1 at Canterbury Bus Station.
Take 8.30 no. 16 bus to Folkestone. This bus leaves Canterbury along the New Dover Road, so the stops at Waitrose or further up the road are an option.
The walk is about 12 miles, with a lunch stop at Kearsney and a bus back from Temple Ewell.
We will get off at Folkestone bus station (arr 9.17) and walk though the town, along the Old High Street and the Harbour, past the Martello Towers on the coast and then take the England Coast Path up the cliffs. The walk to Dover is along the cliff top, past Samphire Hoe and Shakespeare Cliff. Then through Aycliff, past the Western Heights into Dover.
There is the option of a finishing the walk at that point (about 9 miles) and getting the bus 15 back to Canterbury. However, the walk will proceed through Dover and along the Dour Valley path, past Crabble Mill and River to Kearsney Abbey, where we can stop for lunch. Picnic advised, although there is a cafe at the Abbey.
We catch the regular bus no. 15 back from Temple Ewell, which is about 1 mile from Kearsney.

Meet outside 25 St. Augustine’s Road at 8:00 am
Spring Lane and past Little Barton Farmhouse. We take the Public Footpath, which runs parallel to the railway line, along to Bekesbourne Road, further along we take the footpath, on the left, which runs alongside Palmstead Wood then Firdown Wood. We cross A257 and walk along Swanton Lane till we get to the site of the old dump, then take the footpath through to Moat Lane/Stodmarsh Road junction. We cross the road and take the footpath to Scotland Hill, across the Golf Course and then the footpath that runs behind the old barracks, later cutting down to the SVW, which leads us to St. Martin’s Church where the walk ends. 6 miles.
Last week’s Reverse Toddler’s Coves Walk:

Meet at Canterbury Bus Station to catch the 8:30 bus (17 from Bay D1) to Lyminge (bus arrives in Lyminge at 9:09). During August we can get free travel at any time with our bus passes.
From Lyminge we walk back to Canterbury via Stelling Minnis and Lynsore Bottom on a mixture of yellow roads and footpaths. Please bring a packed lunch and plenty to drink en route.
About 12 miles.
Last week’s walk to Sandwich (northern route):
Meet at the top of Nunnery Road where it meets Nunnery Fields at 8:00am
Nunnery Road, Zealand Road, then Lime Kiln Road to footpath, which connects to path behind Wincheap and then to Hollow Lane. Walk along footpath by side of Hollow Lane (under A2 bridge) and along New House Lane, later take footpath across to Strangers Lane. Walk down to A28 and cross for footpath, which leads to bridge over the Stour onto the SVW by the turning to Tonford Manor but turn right and walk to Toddler’s Cove, then across the footbridge and under the ring road towards Lansdown Road where the walk finishes. About 6 miles.
Last week’s Reverse The Hospital Walk:
Meet 8.30am at St Martin’s Church.
The walk is about 14 miles, with a bus back from Sandwich. Bring a packed lunch.
We will take the Stour Valley walk (SVW) to and through Fordwich, branching off right to go through Trenleypark wood and past the solar farm into Littlebourne. Then take the path past the church to Wickhambreaux and between the lakes to Deadmill Bridge, Preston Court (possible break at the church) and Preston. We then take the path through Little Santon Farm and join the SVW again, through Westmarsh and Paramour Street to the Roman Amphitheatre at Richborough. Follow the Saxon Shore Way into Sandwich.

Gather at the main entrance to the Westgate Gardens at 8:30am for a two hour walk rounded off with coffee at a city centre cafe.
Meet @ 8:00 am outside the hospital – junction of South Canterbury Road with Ethelbert Road
The Langton Path to the end of the school playing fields, rugby club, Nackington then down to the bottom of the fields, by the pylons, then right and left through the firebreak in the woods, up the hill and onto to the Renville path. At Renville take the bridge across the motorway and then carefully walk across the NDR/A2 approach road and onto the lane which connects to the orchards, thence onto Pilgrims’ Way/St Augustine’s Road where the walk concludes. 6 miles
