Bring packed lunch/snack. Walk is about 15 miles so we should be back around 2pm

Past the rugby field, Nackington, White Hill wood, Pett Bottom valley. Road past Burstead Manor to Bossingham. Cross Stone St, Ansdore, Waltham Court. Capel Wood, Kenfield Hall, cross Downs road and then normal route to New House Lane and home.

Thursday, 3 June, 2021 – The Villages walk

Meet 8.30am, St Martin’s Church

The walk is about 14 miles, returning about 1.30/2pm, so bring a snack or lunch.

Stour Valley walk to Fordwich, Stodmarsh Rd to Stodmarsh. Then to Wickhambreaux, Ickham, Lower Garrington Farm, Bekesbourne, Patrixbourne (short cut back on the NDW for those who want a shorter walk). Bridge, Middle Pett Farm, Whitehill wood, Nackington, home.

Meet K&C Hospital, 8.30am

Train back from Wye. Bring mask and packed lunch or snack.

Past the rugby field, Nackington, Whitehill Wood, Lower Hardres, Little Catts farm, Stone Street, Duckpit, Ansdore, Waltham, Cox Hill wood, Bavinge wood, Hassell Street, Coombe Manor, Wye Crown, Wye.

Trains at 13.11 and 14.11. The later one with lunch in Wye is the most likely.

Meet St Mary Bredin Church, 8.30

About 14 miles, so bring lunch or a snack.

Landsdown Road to Canterbury East, Toddler Cove, river path to Chartham. Shalmsford Street, Stour valley way, into Denge Woods. Cross Penny Pot Lane, continuing in the woods, into Capel Wood, Kenfield Road, cross Chartham Downs Rd, Upper Horton Farm, New House Lane and home.

Thursday 8 April – Further sightings of the Nailbourne, 21km (13 miles)

Meet 8.30am at the junction of South Canterbury Road with Nunnery Road.

Probably back around 1.30pm so bring packed lunch or snack.
Warning: wet boots fording the Nailbourne. However, we have managed this in recent weeks and there is an alternative if it is too high.

Zealand Road, Lime Kiln Road, New House Lane, St Augustines estate, past the old Perry Court School to Garlinge Green. Capel Farm, Capel Wood,

Hault Farm, Yawlings Wood, New Barn Farm. Duckpit to the Nailbourne crossing. Then up to Stone Street, Little Catt’s Farm, Lower Hardres, Whitehill Wood, Nackington and home.

Thursday 10 December Bigbury, Church and Thornden Woods

Meet 8.30am, St Mary Bredin Church

The walk is 22km (about 14 miles) and we should finish around 1.30pm so bring lunch or a snack.

Toddlers cove, river path (partly flooded atm), Tonford Manor, Bigbury woods, Poldhurt Farm, Upper Harbledown. Take the path into Blean Woods, through the woods to Whitstable Road, Amery Court, Clowes and Thornden woods, Alcroft Grange, Hales Place estate and home through Canterbury.

The walk is about 24km (15 miles) so bring a snack or packed lunch.

Past the rugby club, through Nackington into Whitehill wood, over the Elham valley line to Bridge. Then to Patrixbourne, Bekesbourne, past Littlebourne to Ickham via Lower Garrington Farm, then Wickhambreaux, Stodmarsh, Fordwich and back to Canterbury on the Stour Valley way.

Meet 8.30am at the junction of Nunnery Fields/ Nunnery Road

Walk approximately 20kl (12 miles), returning around 12.30, so bring a snack/lunch if you want.

Nunnery Rd, Zealand Rd, Lime Kiln Road. Footpath path alongside Hollow Lane to New House Lane. New House Farm, over the Downs road, to Kenfield Hall. Footpath to Petham, past the church, footpath to Thompson Garden Centre, over the Stone Street to Upper Hardres Farm. Footpath to Westwood Farm, left along footpath to Pett Bottom. Into Whitehill Woods, Nackington, home via the Rugby Club.

Meet St Mary Bredin Church, 8.30am

About 19 km (12 miles). Bring snack or packed lunch.

Through Canterbury city centre to St Stephens, Hales Place, Alcroft Grange, Thornden Wood, Gypsy corner. Into Clowes Wood, to Amery Court, cross Whitstable Road into Blean wood. Back through Rough Common, past the water tower into Canterbury, via Toddlers Cove.

Thursday 3rd September, NDW to Old Wives Lees, back by the Stour

Meet 8.30am St Mary Bredin Church

About 13 miles returning around 2pm so bring packed lunch

Through Toddlers Cove to London Road roundabout. North Downs Way through Chartham Hatch to Old Wives Lees. Down to the A23, railway and river crossing near Bagham. Shalmsford Street, Chartham, Horton, river crossing and back along the Stour.
