Proceed Stour Valley Walk by side of St. Martin’s Church
Fordwich, Stodmarsh, Nature Reserve, Grove Ferry, Stourmouth, Pluck’s Gutter
Lunch: Dog and Duck, Pluck’s Gutter
If you wish to return from Pluck’s Gutter to Canterbury
Bus 11: 12:23, 13:32, 14:23, takes about 50 mins
Afternoon:
Saxon Shore Way the South along Westmarsh Drove footpath then Hoaden
Continue, cross A257 then footpaths into Wingham:
Buses from Wingham to Canterbury: 13, 13A, 14 (less than 20 mins)

last week’s walk to charing – between badlesmere and charing – great walk, even though we got soaked within the first hour – later it cleared and by old wives leas we decided to carry on. about 18/19 miles. there is no pub in charing any more but we did find a very good tea room, where toasted tea cakes, strawberry jam and pots of tea revived us before heading to the station for the direct train to canterbury west.Thursday 30 June, 2016 – Canterbury to Charing (approx 17miles) meet 8:00

Proceed to Garlinge Green (possibly via Larkey Wood)
Through the Wildwood to Crundale
Up and down the fields to Crundale Church
Down to the Farm in the Valley (where the home in the valley meets the damp dirty prison as Bob Dylan says)
Up again to the top of the downs and then down to Wye via the radio mast site
11 miles (more or less)
Lunch at the Wye Coffee Shop & Kitchen (we have not been that impressed in the past but maybe it has improved, recent reviews would indicate this, plus a local resident recommended it to me a few weeks back when I was walking through Wye).
