last week’s walk to charing – between badlesmere and charing – great walk, even though we got soaked within the first hour – later it cleared and by old wives leas we decided to carry on. about 18/19 miles. there is no pub in charing any more but we did find a very good tea room, where toasted tea cakes, strawberry jam and pots of tea revived us before heading to the station for the direct train to canterbury west.
