Meet outside 25 St Augustine’s Road @ 8:30am

EVW Hode Farm, then footpath to Bridge A2 intersection, then under the A2 and into Bridge – to the Church then EVW through Bishopsbourne to Kingston – at Kingston we take the yellow roads to Marley via Marley Lane and later we take the footpath off to Westwood. From Westwood we take SSFR1 back to Canterbury; via Pett Bottom and Nackington.

Thursday 15 February, 2018 Canterbury Eastern Circle

Meet outside 25 St. Augustine’s Road at 8:30am

NDW & EVW through Barton, left by Hode Farm, past Haystack Wood then Bekesborne Lane (care needed as B road). We take the footpath, which passes Palmsted Wood and Firdown Wood then cross A257 into Swanton Lane and follow this until it becomes Hoolybush Lane eventually turning left into Stodmarsh and then follow Lampen Wall around the Nature Reserve till we get to Grove Ferry. We then take the footpath leading to Island Road, which we cross and make our way to Chitty – Chitty Lane, Hollow Road, Old Tree Farm, Mill Road and finally Hoath. We walk through Hoath and then south, very carefully along the B Road, till we reach Bredlands Lane; from there we go down to the Roman Road and cross it taking the yellow road into Westbere and then onto the footpath by the railway line to near Sturry Station before crossing the line and taking footpath and pavement into Fordwich till we get to the footpath for the SVW following it back to St Martin’s Church, Canterbury where the walk ends.

Wye/footpath and yellow road to Blackwall Road then across the A2070 for the footpath to Ashford Town Centre and then to the Station.

Canterbury to Lyminge – Thursday, 4 January, 2018

Meet by the hospital – corner of South Canterbury Road/Ethelbert Road @ 8:00 am – to allow us time to have lunch at the Tiger and then walk to Lyminge to catch the bus home.

Walk to Nackington, then criss cross various paths to Petham and then a mixture of footpath and road to Stowting, where we stop at the Tiger for lunch.

About 13.5 miles (total, including afternoon about 16 miles)
