Proceed in direction of Patrixbourne, then footpaths to Adisham Church, Bossington, Wingham Well, Gibson’s Farm Shop (Breakfast or Lunch).

Wingham Church, footpaths to Wicambreaux then Wickham Court Lane and footpath to Stodmarsh Road. Footpaths back to Fordwich then SVW back to St Martin’s Church.

8:30 Meet outside St Mary Bredin Church, Nunnery Fields

Road and footpath to Rough Common

Church Wood but, this time, through to Bishopsden and Bossenden woods, eventually to Dunkirk

Walk over the A2 bridge at Dunkirk and along the edge of Poundfall Wood down to Forester’s Lodge Farm and then take the footpath into South Bishops Den wood. Various footpaths through to Podhurst Farm, cut down to Bigbury, back over the A2 bridge and into Harbledown then Canterbury.

Lunch is a possibility somewhere in Canterbury: to be decided during walk.

We catch the 0848 from Canterbury East Station to Selling (£4.10).

We alight at 0857 and proceed via Selling village, Perrywood lookout, Shottenden, Wytherling Court, Molash Church, Challock, down towards Eastwell Manor, then straight on towards Kennington.

Find somewhere to eat our packed lunch around midday.

The possibility of liquid refreshment exists at the Old Mill, Kennington or just carry on to Wye station.

Back from Wye Station at 13:11; 13:38; 14:11; 14:41; 15:11; 15:41. Cost £3.70 with railcard.

Afternoon take Goodnestone Road/Twitham Hill/Crixhall Court/Buckland Lane/Summerfield Farm/Black Pond Farm/Beacon Hill/Marshborough – Vine Farm/Great Poulder’s Farm/Sandwich

There is always the possibility of refreshment in the Red Cow, Sandwich at the end of the walk

Landsdown Road to East Station.
Past Castle and Toddlers Cove
Queens Ave to London Road roundabout (8.45 meet up for people coming from St Dunstans)
Mill Lane onto North Downs Way
Follow NDW through Chartham Hatch to Old Wives Lees.
Footpath down to A28, Pickelden Lane
Footpath to Shalmsford Street and on to Chartham
Cycle Route back to Toddlers Cove and Canterbury

I’m guessing 14 miles, option of bus/train from Chartham
Bring packed lunch/snack

Thursday – 12 October, 2017 – Sibertswold to Littlebourne

Sibertswold to Littleborne (about 10 miles)
The walk can be extended by another 4 1/2 miles by walking back to Canterbury via Patrixbourne – making a total of, say, 15 miles.

Meet at Canterbury East to catch 9:20 train to Sibertswold (Shepherds Well) – 10 mins journey time. Cost £3:55 with Railcard.

Sibertswold/Barfrestone/Nonington/Goodnestone/Muddy Bush Corner/Bramling Downs/Littlebourne (on to Canterbury if desired)

Plenty of buses back to Canterbury from Littlebourne – journey time around 13 minutes

Thursday – 5 October, 2017 Canterbury West to Upstreet with Barry

Led by Barry.

Meet 9am at the junction of Station Road West and the mini- roundabout, in between the Goods Shed and where the footpath leads to the tunnel under the railway.
The route follows the direction of Hales Place, Broad Oak, West Blean Wood and across the
Canterbury Road (A 291) into East Blean Wood.
At Knave’s Ash the Roman Road is crossed and then onwards to the village of Hoath.
From Hoath continue towards Chislet to join, for a short distance, a section
of the Wansum Walk into Upstreet where the walk ends.

Depending on the time we arrive at Upstreet there is the choice of The Grove Ferry for lunch
or the bus straight back to Canterbury.The river path towards Fordwich is an option if anyone
wishes to extend the walk.

The number 8 bus route has four stopping points in Upstreet, Wall End Farm, Grove Ferry Hill, the Post Office and
Port Farm. There should not be more than a few minutes wait for a bus back to Canterbury.

Meet Canterbury West station for train to Wye @ 9:06 cost £3.70 with railcard, arrives 9:20

Wye/Hastingleigh/Lymbridge Green/Rhodes Minnis/Elham

Leisurely pace should get us there in 4 hours.

There is a bus at 13:35 or enjoy the luxuries on offer at the Cosy Tea Rooms then……
