EVW Hode Farm, then footpath to Bridge A2 intersection, then under the A2 and into Bridge – to the Church then EVW through Bishopsbourne to Kingston – at Kingston we take the yellow roads to Marley via Marley Lane and later we take the footpath off to Westwood. From Westwood we take SSFR1 back to Canterbury; via Pett Bottom and Nackington.

Meet at junction of Stuppington Lane with South Canterbury Road at 8:30am

Proceed to New House Lane the into Larkey Valley Wood to Chartham Downs Road. Then we take the yellow road by Perry Hill Shaw and the footpath that eventually leads to Sappington Court then footpath to Kenfield Road. We now cross over the yellow road for the footpath to Swarling Manor Farm later crossing Stone Street and taking the footpath by Harmansole Farm to Lower Hardes, then past the Church and through Whitehill Wood and over Bridge Road for the path to Renville and over the quiet bridge, finally crossing New Dover Road and to the Hode Farm lane and footpaths to join the NDW/EVW path, past Barton Industrial Estate into Pilgrims’ Way and St Augustine’s Road where the walk finishes. 12 miles.

There is the Red Lion here should we fancy some refreshment.

Meet outside the hospital: junction of South Canterbury Road with Ethelbert Road @ 8:30 am

Footpath to Rugby Club then Nakington, follow on through Whitehill Wood but this time we take the yellow road down to The Duck. We then take the footpath to Broxhall Wood, Broxhall Road then path down by Hardres Court Farm, along the road to the footpath, which leads to Bossingham. We follow a bit of yellow road but then take the footpath through Atchester Wood, then yellow roads along to Stelling Minnis where we take the footpath through Elhampark Wood to Upper Park Gate Farm then straight down and into (road/footpath) Elham.

The Cosy Tea Rooms for lunch.

Meet by Abbotts Barton Walk – next to Ben’s house @ 8:30am

Then ODR/Landsdown Road/Toddler’s Cove/Whitehall Road/St. Dunstan’s Terrace/The Cemetery/footpatho up to Rough Common.

Later out of the woods, crossing A290 at Blean, taking the footpath to Amery Court and then into Clowes Wood. At Gypsy Corner cross into Thornden Wood, then West Blean Wood, New Road then cut down by the side of Belce Wood and onto Broad Oak Road/Sturry/Fordwich and back along SVW to Canterbury.

Meet outside 25 St Augustine’s Road 8:30

Packed lunch to be eaten en route

Proceed on NDW as far as Patrixbourne then yellow roads and footpaths to Womenswold rejoining NDW and proceeding to Sibertswold. We continue to Coldred on NDW but then leave it in favour of yellow roads to Whitfield, where we weave through footpath and streets to get over to the footpath running by the side of the A2 and later crossing A256. We then rejoin NDW, to and through the necropolis and into Dover and then to Dover Priory station.

Estimated distance 17 miles

Trains from Dover Priory to Canterbury East, cost £5.60 with railcard:

Thursday, 12 July, 2018 – Lenham to Canterbury (Packed Lunch)

**PACKED LUNCH**
Meet at Canterbury West station to catch 9:05 direct train to Lenham (arrives 09:46) cost £8:80 for return ticket with railcard – this gives the possibility of catching the train back to Canterbury at any time from Chilham on the way back.

From Lenham Station we walk up to the NDW, crossing the A20, then in the direction of Stalisfield, Bells Forestal and Badlesmere (taking lunch somewhere before we arrive at Badlesmere) – there is the Red Lion at Badlesmere where may wish to stop for a drink before continuing (lunch at the pub was not a memorable experience last time we tried it, thus ‘packed lunch’).

In the afternoon we proceed to Shottenden, then Old Wives Leas, rejoining the NDW and later cutting down to the SVW before we get to Chartham Hatch and then continuing into Canterbury, arriving at Toddlers Cove.

Distance 22 miles (or less if one takes the train at Chilham or Chartham)
