Meet at the main entrance to the Westgate Gardens at 8:30am.
Meet at the top of Nunnery Road where it meets Nunnery Fields at 8:00am
Nunnery Road, Zealand Road, then Lime Kiln Road to footpath, which connects to path behind Wincheap and then to Hollow Lane. Walk along footpath by side of Hollow Lane (under A2 bridge) and along New House Lane, later take footpath across to Strangers Lane. Walk down to A28 and cross for footpath, which leads to bridge over the Stour onto the SVW by the turning to Tonford Manor but turn right and walk to Toddler’s Cove, then across the footbridge and under the ring road towards Lansdown Road where the walk finishes. About 6 miles.

Meet at Canterbury Bus Station to catch 8:35am bus No: 15 (Bay D4) to Temple Ewell – 24 mins. (Cost £3)
Packed lunch and refreshment stops.
Footpath across Scotland Common, The Minnis, leading to Alkham, onward, crossing A260 at Densole. Footpaths across Acrise CP, then Elham.
About 10 miles.

Last week’s Fright Wood Circle Walk:
Meet at the main entrance to the Westgate Gardens at 8:30am.
The walk planned for last week was postponed and rearranged for this coming Wednesday.
We will walk to the site where the solar farm is to be located near Heathy Spot and then probably return on the cycle path. It is perfect day for a walk with a sunny and gentle breeze weather forecast.
The pic taken on the walk last week is of Abdi on the river path near ASDA. Of the five of us who set out only Huw and Steve completed the walk. The plan attached is for the solar farm as mentioned.
Meet @ 8:00 am outside the hospital – junction of South Canterbury Road with Ethelbert Road
The Langton Path to the end of the school playing fields, rugby club, Nackington then down to the bottom of the fields, by the pylons, then right and left through the firebreak in the woods, up the hill and onto to the Renville path. At Renville take the bridge across the motorway and then carefully walk across the NDR/A2 approach road and onto the lane which connects to the orchards, thence onto Pilgrims’ Way/St Augustine’s Road where the walk concludes. 6 miles

Meet outside the Canterbury Launderette, Nunnery Fields – opposite St Mary Bredin Church at 8:30
Lansdown Road to Toddler’s Cove, then SVW to Tonford Manor following path below side of A2 towards Podhurst Farm where we make for Denstead Farm, crossing Denstead Lane arriving at the yellow road above Primrose Hill. We cut through Denstead Wood (no official footpath) to the Bower Wood/Nickle Wood path then the path through Fright Wood, working down to the path which crosses Ashford Road (A28) and proceeds through a gate in the wall, which leads to the bridge over the Weir. Then onto Chartham, through the Church and taking the path near the Artichoke pub, which eventually leads to Strangers Lane, then New House Lane into Hollow Lane, later crossing to Wincheap Farm, Lime Kiln Road, Zealand Road finishing at the top of Nunnery Road.
Bring lunch/elevenses/snack. About 11 miles.
Last week’s Woods Walk:
Meet at the main entrance to the Westgate Gardens at 8:30am for this weeks two hour walk and coffee morning.
The walk will head off to Tyler Hill. This is an opportunity for us to view the site that is destined to become a solar panel farm. It’s a place well known to Striders close to Well Court and Heathy Spot. Weather forecast is for sunny intervals and light winds.

Walk to Rugby Club then, via Nackington to Bridge Road and into Whitehill Wood. Onward to Lower Hardes Church then take the footpath to Bridge Road junction at Stone Street; cross onto footpath, which leads to Iffin Lane, and then the connecting footpath to New House Lane, then Hollow Lane crossing onto footpath through orchards and later connecting to Lime Kiln Road and Nunnery Road where the walk ends.
