Garlinge Green/through Denge Wood crossing Penny Pot Lane into Barton Wood/through Wye Nature Reserve/cross Sole Street for footpath to Crundale/down and up and down to Wye/lunch at Wye Coffee & Kitchen

Afternoon
Wye/footpath and yellow road to Blackwall Road then across the A2070 for the footpath to Ashford Town Centre and then to the Station.

About 17 miles

Trains from Ashford to Canterbury West. Cost £4.70 with railcard.

Canterbury to Lyminge – Thursday, 4 January, 2018

Meet by the hospital – corner of South Canterbury Road/Ethelbert Road @ 8:00 am – to allow us time to have lunch at the Tiger and then walk to Lyminge to catch the bus home.

Walk to Nackington, then criss cross various paths to Petham and then a mixture of footpath and road to Stowting, where we stop at the Tiger for lunch.

About 13.5 miles (total, including afternoon about 16 miles)

Footpath and road to Lyminge from the Tiger – about 2 1/2 miles to catch the bus back to Canterbury:

Thursday, 14 December, 2017 Canterbury South Circular (12 miles)

Meet at junction of Stuppington Lane with South Canterbury Road at 8:30am

Proceed to New House Lane the into Larkey Valley Wood to Chartham Downs Road. Then we take the yellow road by Perry Hill Shaw and the footpath that eventually leads to Sappington Court then footpath to Kenfield Road. We now cross over the yellow road for the footpath to Swarling Manor Farm later crossing Stone Street and taking the footpath by Harmansole Farm to Lower Hardes, then past the Church and through Whitehill Wood and over Bridge Road for the path to Renville and over the quiet bridge, finally crossing New Dover Road and to the Hode Farm lane and footpaths to join the NDW/EVW path, past Barton Industrial Estate into Pilgrims’ Way and St Augustine’s Road where the walk finishes. 12 miles.

Thursday, 7 December, 2017 – The Bridge Circle (8:00am this week)

A shorter walk this week leaving earlier – it takes less than 3 hours.

Meet outside the hospital at 8:00 am (corner junction of South Canterbury Road with Ethelbert Road).

Proceed via Langton Path but onto the rugby club then Nackington and over Bridge Road into Whitehill Wood and onto Pett Bottom Road. Footpath by Middle Pett Farm and over the old Elham Valley Rail bridge and into Bridge and the High Street. We cross the High Street and then via the footpath by the School head towards the site of Bifrons crossing the main road to Hode Lane then, via EVW and NDR into the orchards and Barton Industrial Estate, Pilgrims’ Way To St Augustine’s Road where the walk concludes.

Meet outside 25 St Augustine’s Road at 8:30

Proceed in direction of Patrixbourne, then footpaths to Adisham Church, Bossington, Wingham Well, Gibson’s Farm Shop (Breakfast or Lunch).

Wingham Church, footpaths to Wicambreaux then Wickham Court Lane and footpath to Stodmarsh Road. Footpaths back to Fordwich then SVW back to St Martin’s Church.

8:30 Meet outside St Mary Bredin Church, Nunnery Fields

Road and footpath to Rough Common

Church Wood but, this time, through to Bishopsden and Bossenden woods, eventually to Dunkirk

Walk over the A2 bridge at Dunkirk and along the edge of Poundfall Wood down to Forester’s Lodge Farm and then take the footpath into South Bishops Den wood. Various footpaths through to Podhurst Farm, cut down to Bigbury, back over the A2 bridge and into Harbledown then Canterbury.

Lunch is a possibility somewhere in Canterbury: to be decided during walk.
