Meet outside 25 St. Augustine’s Road @ 8:30 am
Minor roads and footpaths: NDW to Patrixbourne, then through Adisham to Love Lane branching off to Goodnestone then yellow roads and footpaths to Eastry to catch the No: 81 bus to Canterbury (13;28; 14:28) takes just over an hour via Sandwich and Wingham.

Last week’s Woods & Coast Walk to Herne Bay:
Meet at the main entrance to the Westgate Gardens for a walk taking approximately two hours followed by coffee at a city centre cafe.
The walk will return to Barton Down to try and rediscover the lost path.

Meet outside 25 St. Augustine’s Road at 8:00 am
Spring Lane and past Little Barton Farmhouse. We take the Public Footpath, which runs parallel to the railway line, along to Bekesbourne Road, further along we take the footpath, on the left, which runs alongside Palmstead Wood then Firdown Wood. We cross A257 and walk along Swanton Lane till we get to the site of the old dump, then take the footpath through to Moat Lane/Stodmarsh Road junction. We cross the road and take the footpath to Scotland Hill, across the Golf Course and then the footpath that runs behind the old barracks, later cutting down to the SVW, which leads us to St. Martin’s Church where the walk ends. 6 miles.
Last week’s Reverse Toddler’s Coves Walk:
Meet at 8.30am, launderette opposite St Mary Bredin Church.
This route is about 13 miles. After Toddlers Cove it goes through Lower Harbledown up to the University and the takes the path parallel to the cycle route to Whitstable and then the coast to Herne Bay. Packed lunch or Wallflower Cafe, and bus back home.
A shorter walk is possible by taking the bus back from Whitstable or Tankerton.
Last week’s Elham to Temple Ewell walk:

Meet 8:30am at the main entrance to the Westgate Gardens for this weeks two hour walk followed by coffee at a city centre cafe.
Steve will lead the walk and agree with all who turn up what direction to take.
The pic taken on the walk last week shows the lads at a famous Striders landmark, Pedders Grave. Good to see Martin back with us.

Meet at the top of Nunnery Road where it meets Nunnery Fields at 8:00am
Nunnery Road, Zealand Road, then Lime Kiln Road to footpath, which connects to path behind Wincheap and then to Hollow Lane. Walk along footpath by side of Hollow Lane (under A2 bridge) and along New House Lane, later take footpath across to Strangers Lane. Walk down to A28 and cross for footpath, which leads to bridge over the Stour onto the SVW by the turning to Tonford Manor but turn right and walk to Toddler’s Cove, then across the footbridge and under the ring road towards Lansdown Road where the walk finishes. About 6 miles.
Last week’s Reverse The Hospital Walk:

Meet at Canterbury Bus Station to catch 8:30am bus No: 17 (Bay D1) to Elham – about 31 mins and cost £2
Packed lunch and refreshment stops.
Footpaths to Acrise CP then cross A260 at Densole, forward to Alkham, later footpath across the Minnis leading to Scotland Common and then Temple Ewell.
About 10 miles but possibility for shorter walk and take the bus back from Selsted.
Return Bus 15 from Temple Ewell to Canterbury:
11, 31 & 51 past the hour (23mins)
Last week’s Denge Wood Circle walk:
Steve will be leading the walk for the next two weeks, the arrangements for meeting up remain the same. Meet at the main entrance to the Westgate Gardens at 8:30am for the two hour walk followed by coffee.
The direction of the walk will be decided on the day.
So far the forecast is for light rain and light wind, hopefully the forecast will improve.
The pic from the walk last week is of Bert high up on Barton Down. In the distance is a very fine view of the cathedral, city and surrounding area.

Meet @ 8:00 am outside the hospital – junction of South Canterbury Road with Ethelbert Road
The Langton Path to the end of the school playing fields, rugby club, Nackington then down to the bottom of the fields, by the pylons, then right and left through the firebreak in the woods, up the hill and onto to the Renville path. At Renville take the bridge across the motorway and then carefully walk across the NDR/A2 approach road and onto the lane which connects to the orchards, thence onto Pilgrims’ Way/St Augustine’s Road where the walk concludes. 6 miles
