About 17 miles (10 morning, 7 afternoon)
Trains back from Westernhanger to CBW (change at Ashford) approx. 40 mins. Leaving at: 15:19, 16:19, 16:46, 17:19

Meet outside 25 St Augustine’s Road @ 9:00
Slightly shorter walk this week but a longer SSS walk on Tuesday (15th) should compensate those wanting a longer mileage fix.
North Holmes Road, through town, West Station tunnel to St Stephen’s Green, The University, Cycle Path to Harbledown and then back via the Castle and Lansdown Road.

Thursday – 10 August, 2017 @ 8:00 Faversham to Whitstable (packed lunch)
Packed Lunch – to be eaten en route
Meet at Canterbury East Station to catch 09:09 train, arriving in Faversham (£3.55 with Railcard).
Walk through Faversham and then follow the Saxon Shore Way along the east bank of Faversham Creek to Nagden Marshes. Continue along the SSW along the south bank of the Swale to the Sportsmen Inn and on towards Seasalater. Follow the shore to Whitstable West Beach where there is the possibility of a swim. Then on into Whitstable for coffee/tea at Tea & Times.
Distance: 10 miles
Plenty of buses back from Whitstable to Canterbury

Down to the Farm in the Valley (where the home in the valley meets the damp dirty prison as Bob Dylan says)
Up again to the top of the downs and then down to Wye via the radio mast site
11 miles (more or less)
Cafe and pubs if we wish or quick return from Wye station

Lunch and Swimming (or we may eat lunch earlier on the walk)
Then walk to Herne Bay to catch the bus back (about 3 miles)

There is always the possibility of refreshment in the Red Cow, Sandwich at the end of the walk
