Thursday 30 July – Denge Woods via the River Stour

15/16 miles, home around 2pm. Bring packed lunch or snack.

Meet at 8.30am by St Mary Bredin Church

Through Toddlers Cove and then along the river to Chartham and Shalmsford Street. Stour Valley Way and cycle route to edge of Denge Woods, then up to Upper Thruxted Farm, through the woods to Buckholt Farm. Through Capel Wood to Kenfield Hall, over the Downs road and footpath to New House Farm and back to Canterbury.

Meet outside 25 St Augustine’s Road @ 8:30am

Follow NDW to Patrixbourne then Shepherds’ Close Road to Bridle Path, yellow road, Woodlands Wood, Cooling Downs down to Pond Lane. Footpath over to behind Nonington then a network of footpaths, finally leading into Chillenden. Leave Chillenden by footpath to Goodnestone then another footpath, which takes us to Love Lane and then back to Canterbury via Adisham.

A tour of the villages to the East and South of Canterbury, 15 miles.

Meet at 8.30am, St Martin’s Church

Stour Valley Walk to Fordwich, the Stodmarsh. Footpath to Wickhambreaux, Ickham. Past Littlebourne, via Upper Garrington Farm to Bekesbourne, Patrixbourne. Bifrons Park route to Bridge, over the Elham Valley railway to Nackington, rugby ground, back to Canterbury.

Around 15 miles. Lunch break at one of the Churches.
