SSS441 – Tuesday, 12 May, 2026 – Toddler’s Coves Walk

Meet outside the Launderette opposite St. Mary Bredin Church at 8:00am

Toddler’s cove via Lansdown Road

SVW to near Tonford Manor; over the Stour, over the A28; Strangers Lane; footpath to New House Lane; footpath by side of Hollow Lane then connecting footpaths behind Wincheap to Zealand Road and then to the top of Nunnery Road where the walk finishes. About 6 miles.

Thursday 7 May, 2026 – Denge Wood Circle

The walk is 14 miles, so we should be back around 2pm. Please bring a picnic/snack and plenty of water.

Nunnery Road, Zealand Road, Lime Kiln Road. Through orchards to New House Lane, past New House Farm to Garlinge Green road. Enter Denge woods, Upper Thruxted Farm, to Mystole Road. Through Shalmsford Street and Chartham, home along the river.

SSS440 – Tuesday, 5 May, 2026 – The Hospital Walk

Meet @ 8:00 am outside the hospital – junction of South Canterbury Road with Ethelbert Road.
The Langton Path to the end of the school playing fields, rugby club, Nackington then down to the bottom of the fields, by the pylons, then right and left through the firebreak in the woods, up the hill and onto to the Renville path. At Renville take the bridge across the motorway and then carefully walk across the NDR/A2 approach road and onto the lane which connects to the orchards, thence onto Pilgrims’ Way/St Augustine’s Road where the walk concludes. 6 miles

Thursday 30 April, 2026 – Lydden

Meet at 8.30am, K&C, South Canterbury Rd entrance. The walk is 12 miles with regular buses from Lydden or, for a shorter walk, from Broome Park/Denton.

We will break at Broome Park for a mid morning snack. There is a cafe available.

Past the rugby ground to Nackington, Whitehill Woods, Middle Pett Farm, Hint Cottage. Elham Valley way to Bishopsbourne, Kingston, Heart’s Delight, Barham. Over the Broome Park golf course to the main entrance. past Lyddon Circuit, Birches Farm, Wickham Bushes to Lydden.

No:15 Bus from Lydden Bell to Canterbury @ 12:17; 12:37; 12:57; 13:17; 13:37; 13:57 (19 mins).

Meet corner of Nunnery Fields/Nunnery Road @ 8am

Nunnery Road/Zealand Road/Lime Kiln Road/Fields to Hollow Lane/Footpath to New House Lane/Connecting footpath to Iffin Lane/Footpath to Bridge Road/Footpath to Lower Hardes Church then along the lane for the path through Whitehill Wood back via Bridge Road and Nackington, via Rugby Club, to the Hospital. (6 miles).

Thursday, 23 April, 2026 – Canterbury South Circular

Meet at the top of Nunnery Road at 8:30am

PACKED LUNCH

Proceed to New House Lane then into Larkey Valley Wood to Chartham Downs Road. Then we take the yellow road by Perry Hill Shaw and the footpath that eventually leads to Sappington Court then footpath to Kenfield Road. We now cross over the yellow road for the footpath to Swarling Manor Farm later crossing Stone Street and taking the footpath to Lower Hardes, then past the Church and through Whitehill Wood to Pett Bottom Road, then footpath to Bridge.  The final part of the walk takes us under the A2 and up to the junction, carefully crossing Bifrons Hill and then by footpaths past Barton Industrial Estate to the Railway Bridge at the junction of Pilgrims’ Way with Pilgrims’ Road, where the walk finishes.

13 miles.
